| Volunteer Position Description |
We're recruiting volutneers for our Friendly Visitor Program. Friendly visits help break the feelings of isolation felt by many seniors, especially in those for whom mobility is a problem. We match isolated seniors with volunteers for a visit every week. Volunteers will meet with a senior in their home, catch up over a cup of tea, help out with a chore, and generally get to know each other. We hope that this is a mutually beneficial relationship in which both people might learn from the experiences of the other and enjoy each other’s company. |

Friendly and Compassionate: Ability to build rapport and engage with seniors in a warm and supportive manner.
Reliable: Commitment to visit a senior once a week at their home, as scheduled.
Flexible: Willingness to adapt to the senior’s needs and preferences, including helping with light chores or sharing a cup of tea.
Good Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to foster meaningful and enjoyable interactions.
Dependable Transportation: Access to reliable transportation to get to and from the senior’s home.
Willingness to Undergo a Background Check: Necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of the seniors. |
