| Volunteer Position Description |
Our organization works with high social and cognitive functioning autistic adults from 18 to 35. We are currently searching for non-autistic participants to take part in our activities. We are not looking for people wishing to do interventions but rather to participate in the activities offered by the organization with our customers. One of the problems often encountered by our customers is the desire to participate as well as motivation. On the other hand, we have noticed that the presence of neurotypical people of the same age during our activities increases the motivation of our participants. Therefore, it would be interesting to be able to do business with you given the prestige granted to your university as well as the presence of your student life service.
Our organization offers a wide variety of programs in partnership with influential players in our community. There is no minimum time required and our recruiting time is generally from mid-august until late September. I personally oversee the bank of non-autistic participants and will direct them daily. I will also give them a small information and formation class before joining our ranks.
On the plus side, students and post-graduates who would like to join our team of non-autistic participants would have a great opportunity to get to know this clientele and understand how it works. In addition, the number of our activities and partnerships is very diversified, which allows us to reach several interests for the participants: cooking workshop at the ITHQ, dance workshop with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, theater workshop with the TNM, art therapy with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, evenings of board games, physical activities, improvisation workshop with The National League of Improvisation, documentary theatre, with the organization Porte-Parole, etc. I invite you to look at our website at:
