Auberge Transition : Contact with Residents/Women

Volunteer Position Description Planning activities at the residence for residents and/or children. Communicating with Volunteer Coordinator to schedule activities in advance. Activities can be only once or scheduled regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, etc.) Activity can be, but are not limited to: - Exercise groups (yoga, running, stretching, dancing, etc) - Creative arts (painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting, sculpting, beading, etc) - Cooking and/or baking - Book club - Creative writing - Self-care activities - Games evening - Resume and cover letter building - Income tax workshop - Housing rights workshops - Parenting workshops - Budgeting - Sewing - Home repairs - Technology 101 - Emergency preparedness - Debt management - Couponing - Interview skills, etc. If volunteers think of other areas of interest, they can plan and coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Additonal Application Information / Comments The shelter's address will remain confidential for safety and security reasons, it will be given upon the first scheduled training. As this is a shelter for women who have often experienced intimate partner violence from male perpetrators, only non-male identifying people will be accepted as volunteers for roles within the residence.
