Auberge Transition : Skils-Based Volunteering

Volunteer Position Description For those who would like to use their professional skills in a volunteer setting. Frequency can depend on availability and Professional volunteering can be, for example: - Hairdressing/styling/braiding - Tax clinics (during income tax season) - Medical check ups/clinics - Nail Technician - Massage therapy - Health workshops (teaching about healthy living, prevention, child development, child health, etc.) - ESL teaching - Cooking - Moving - Legal clinics, etc. If volunteers think of other areas of interest, they can plan and coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Additonal Application Information / Comments The shelter's address will remain confidential for safety and security reasons, it will be given upon the first scheduled training. As this is a shelter for women who have often experienced intimate partner violence from male perpetrators, only non-male identifying people will be accepted as volunteers for roles that must take place within the residence. **For volunteer roles such as movers, we can accept male-identifying people as volunteers.
