Volunteer Position Description |
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a group of children of different age and background
- Guarantee safe and secure entertainment away from violence of any form.
- Understand impacts of conjugal violence on children
- Work in collaboration with the mothers
- Fill out “le cahier de rapport” every month
- Planning and promoting the activities well in advance
- Organizing all the materials and equipment to deliver a precise and structured activity.
- Report all materials/equipment missing to childcare worker in advance of an activity
- Entertaining a group of children with games, dancing and Art & Craft.
- Seasonal activities (park in summer, Christmas activities etc.)
- Work in collaboration with other volunteers
- Prepare with childcare workers activities on big holidays (Christmas, Mother’s Day,
Halloween, Easter).
- Communicate any concern/issues encountered with the volunteer’s coordinator
- Be consistent and regular (2 or 3 a month).

The shelter's address will remain confidential for safety and security reasons, it will be given upon the first scheduled training.
As this is a shelter for women who have often experienced intimate partner violence from male perpetrators, only non-male identifying people will be accepted as volunteers for roles within the residence. |
