| Volunteer Position Description |
Our “8th Annual Cedars Run for Ovarian Cancer” event is a 2km, 5km and 10km run/walk which is scheduled for October 15th. This event raises awareness and funds for the DOvEEgene Project, under the leadership of Dr. Lucy Gilbert at the McGill University Health Centre. The DOvEEgene test provides a safe and minimally invasive method for earlier diagnosis of ovarian and endometrial cancers while being the only test to distinguish cancerous versus non-cancerous cells in pre- and post-menopausal women. To achieve a seamless event, we rely on the help of volunteers.
Approximate timing: from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, depending on volunteer task.

Here are some examples of some of the volunteer positions needed:
• Food and Drink Stations: Help keep our runners full of energy by becoming a food station volunteer
• Cheer: Help to cheer on the runners along the route
• Registration & Information: Help us to check in all participants and provide them with necessary items and information
• Set-Up and Take-Down: Help us to set-up the event space and take it down at the end of the day
