Volunteer Position Description |
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, stimulating and recreational environment for the kids
- Provide care and supervision according to their needs/age
- Provide respite services such as feeding, hygiene, etc.
- Embrace the shelter’s mission and values
- Use feminist approach, Intersectional and trauma informed care
- Communicate with the volunteer coordinator of any issues
- Work in collaboration with childcare worker
- Bring creativity and educational activities for the kids
- Use the activities book during the first months

Volunteer Position Requirements |
Experience working with children is always an asset but NOT a requirement.
French and English required.
Knowing other languages is a great asset.
Police background checks will be conducted by the organization for every volunteer.
Training is provided for all volunteers. |

The shelter's address will remain confidential for safety and security reasons, it will be given upon the first scheduled training.
As this is a shelter for women who have often experienced intimate partner violence from male perpetrators, only non-male identifying people will be accepted as volunteers for roles within the residence. |
